Quit your shitty 9–5

Find Your Sacred Hours

I aim to be in bed for 10 o clock every night and up by 7 the next day. I can’t even imagine trying to be productive if my sleep schedule was all fucked up. If I sleep in even by a couple of hours it makes me feel behind and it totally ruins my day. I feel like this is something people with ADHD struggle with and it wreaks havoc on their productivity. Get to your bed early and stay away from your phone for the first/last hour of the day. Trust me.

You have to be really interested in what it is your doing to have hyperfocus, this is why you can get lost doom scrolling for hours on end. If your really interested in your work then great, you’ll be really productive and no one will be able to match your work ethic. The problem is that most of the time your work isn’t going to be interesting even if you’re passionate about it, so you’ll end up hyper focusing on the wrong things.

If you can find ways to manage it then it can become your superpower, here are some tips on how you can do so:

Stick To A Routine

It’s a double edged sword as you don’t really have control over it.

Its not easy trying to find your flow with ADHD, it can feel like your focus is being pulled in a million different directions. It can be done though, its no excuse not to try.

If your working a job you hate then don’t wonder why you’re not performing. You’ll never be able to focus when your bored and hating your life so get out of that job and find something more meaningful to you.

Another reason why you need to get out of your 9–5, you cant choose what time you work. Find what time of the day you’re the most productive, for most people its first thing in the morning but everyone’s different, so spend some time figuring out what works best for you.

You are what you eat, so if you eat like shit then don’t be surprised when you feel like shit. Eating highly processed carbohydrates is terrible for anyone’s focus, never mind if you have ADHD. Cut these foods out and eat plenty of meat, fish and eggs. Doing this alongside consistent exercise is a gamechanger for your mental clarity/focus.
